Next Week ... 27 March 2011

Hi Girls!  Sorry for the delay - seem to be busy and preoccupied all at the same time at the moment!

Next week's workshop is -

Page Maps March   $21
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
This is a page map I drew myself and I am going to give you a template to keep and copy so you will be able to do the same thing in the future.  Very handy when you think of or see an idea that you want to scrap.  You will need 7 landscape photos @ 4½x3½” for this layout, I used some from the 80’s, this is why they are a funny size!  I have also used photos corners to help define each photo where they have overlapped.  You will also need your basic tool kit, a title (mine consists of a newspaper cutting & stickers), corner rounder and inks.  P.S. If you click on the photo, you will get a bigger shot in a new window :-)

As I am starting Sweet Charity with the Hills Theatre Company this week for the next three weekends, followed by Easter, there are no Scrap'n'Roasts until the 30th April.  Seems like such a long way away, but I know it will fly by!! Miss Saigon rehearsals start next Sunday as well, so I will have two shows running in my head at the same time - crazy ;-}

I need to put an order in to the wholesalers, Print Blocks or Aussie Scrap Source or StampIt - so if there's anything you would like me to get, let me know!

I have been cooking Vietnamese and the kids are loving it!  Here are the Imperial Spring Rolls I made last Friday and they were ... delicious!!!!  The kids ate them with rice, but I had it as they are supposed to be eaten, wrapped in lettuce with Vietnamese mint, bean sprouts and other yummy greens with a fish sauce dip....mmmmmmm.....

Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Next week ... 21 March 2011

Wow! Back a week already ... still not quite in sync with the rest of Adelaide ... yet! It was great to see many of you over the past week and recount tales of our holiday with you :-)

Next week's workshop is -
ATTACK YOUR STASH $10
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12:30-2:30pm and Thursday 9:30-11:30am
This over the top Attack Your Stash was a fun layout to come up with using photos Lisa & I had taken at Ikea, layering photos on top of each other to create a great perspective effect!  There’s a long list, so here we go!! Photos - 1 landscape @ 5x7”; 1 landscape @ 4x6” and the same photo blown up to 6x8” portrait. Background - 2x cardstock; Contrast 1 - 2x patterned paper full sheets; Contrast 2 - 1x patterned paper full sheet; Contrast 3 - 1 x cardstock @ 6x12”; Photo mat 1 - 1 x cardstock full sheet; Photo mat 2 - 1 x cardstock full sheet; embroidery floss; title; embellishments - I have used bling strips x 2; pearl & lace flourish; paper flowers x 4, PHEW!!  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, sewing needle and paper piercer.

Scrap'n'Roast on the 26th is fully booked. PLEASE, PLEASE let me know if you can't make it. Last weekend I had one cancellation and was able contact people on the waiting list, but there was also a no show. When this happens - people on the waiting list miss out and I also buy and prepare food for the amount of people booked in, which doesn't make it cost effective for me. I don't want to charge people for not turning up and I don't want to increase the deposit, so please let me know as soon as you know you can't make it.

Black core-dinations cardstock is still out of stock with the supplier, so I will be trying to get another brand of plain black cardstock until the other is back in stock.

Winter CHA stock is starting to filter into the wholesalers. Have you seen something that you would really like and can't live without??? Let me know so I can add it to my list. When things arrive I can order them in. Personally, I want and can no longer live without a Martha Stewart scoring board!! Print Blocks and Aussie Scrap Source both now are getting in the MS range of products...hmmmm...!

Here's a couple of snaps from the holiday :-)

Happy scrapping,

Mandy :-)

Next Week ... 13 March 2011

Hi everyone.....I'm baaaaccccckkkk!!!!!

Hope you have all had a great month.

No need to tell you mine was fantastic!  If you haven't already you can read our adventures here at chisms-vietnam2011  You will start to see photos of the trip in upcoming pages and I will have the ipad set up as a slideshow on the counter over the next few weeks.
Back to reality now!
Next Weeks Workshop is - Anyone for Bingo?   $21
Bingo & playing cards have become quite popular on scrap pages, so I thought we should all have a play with them - no pun intended!!  You will need only one landscape photo @ 5x7” for this layout.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks (I actually used kindyglitz which will take too long to dry in the workshop, but you could do this at home), bling bits or pearls, a charm (I used a heart), sewing needle and paper piercer.
Sorry about the picture, don't know why it kept loading upside down when it was right-side up on the computer!!!

Scrap'n'Roast tomorrow is still a goer.  I haven't been in the scraproom yet, but will be doing a spot or two of cleaning in the morning!

Looking forward to catching up with you all,
Happy Scrapping,

Mandy :-)
