Next week ... 28th October 2913

Hello, hello :-)

Well Grease has finished with the final two shows on Saturday - it's been a blast! Such great music, wonderful stage performers and a full house to play to every night, just wonderful :-)  Now to get back to the routines of 'normal' life, lol!

Next week's workshop is ...
ATTACK YOUR STASH   $10
Thursday 9:30-11:30am
You will need 4 photos for this Attack, 3 portrait @ 4”x6” and 1 landscape @ 3”x4”.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, title, sanding disk or distressing tool, journal pen and embellishments.  From your stash you will need 2 x cardstock for the background, 1 full sheet of double sided paper and another 1 full sheet of double sided paper.  We will be using both sides of the paper, so if you don’t like the reverse, pop in a couple of other papers to match the sides you like :-)

Upcoming workshops -
  • Art Journaling $10 8th Nov 12.30pm & 7pm
  • Scrap'n'Roast $20 16th Nov 4pm-midnight

I have one kit for the Mixed Media Canvas leftover from the recent workshop!  If you missed out on the workshop, here's your chance :-)  Comes with a pdf of instructions with pictures.  $80 for the complete kit with more than you need, so you can use the leftovers for other projects.  Would be a beautiful Christmas gift!!

I am selling Daniel's drum kit and my old tenor saxophone.  If you know anyone who would be interested, could you please pass on my number?  They are both in very good condition, perfect for beginners.  Drum kit $300 & Sax $400, we are open to reasonable offers.

Well, off to a mountain of cleaning!  Plus, I have lots of scrapping to do ;-) First though, some grocery shopping.

Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Next week ... SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!!!!

Hello everybody :-)

How are you all today?  It seems our weather is still all over the place, but we are having some lovely days. Of course, the weather in the scrap room is always perfect!!  ;-D

Super busy as always in the Chisholm household. I have decided to have no workshops during these September/October school holidays.  This will give me a chance to catch up with a few things, practise for Grease and spend some nice one on one time with Jennifer. Daniel has been offered work for the holidays, so he's super stoked about that!

So...Workshops will begin again the week of the 21st October.  I know this is actually three weeks, but I have the first Grease dress rehearsal on the 14th, the 17th is opening night and I would have been in the theatre every night since the Sunday, so I am taking the opportunity to sleep in as much as possible!!

When we return, Monday nights will only be held fortnightly, starting the 14th October, as the workshop numbers are too low to keep them going weekly.  You will all receive an update at the end of the holidays.

ART JOURNAL   $14
Friday 27th 12.30-2.30 and 7-9pm
I have a lovely stamp set for you use and keep in this months art journal workshop.  You will need to gesso your page prior to class.  For your supplies you will need one colour of paint, about ½ sheet of patterned paper, a few sheets of your ripped out book paper or music paper, tripletac, heat tool, stazon ink, journal pen and an acrylic stamp block.  Our quote for this month -

“Time is a companion that goes with us on the journey.  It reminds us to cherish each moment because it will never come again.  What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived.” Captain Jean-Luc Picard

MIXED MEDIA PT2
This Saturday, the 28th, is Part 2 of the Mixed Media Canvas :-)  I hope you have all let your gel dry and cure for 24-36 hours.  It will now be ready for gessoing and colouring tomorrow!
For week 2 you will need - glimmermists/smooch/colour shine sprays 2 or 3 colours, co-ordinating paints 2 or 3 colours including a brown which will be our shadow, paintbrushes, gesso and heat gun.
Looking forward to seeing them all coloured up and ready to display :-)

With my Grease commitment in October,  there will be no art journal workshop or Scrap'n'Roast  - I just can't fit them in!

Very excited to receive my new 3annies camera bag - its so gorgeous!!

How cute is this?!!  Pink leather with brown and white spotty interior!  The camera padding is separate and can be removed - very cool!  Looking forward to putting my camera and bits in, even has a pocket to hold my iPad. Fantastic :-D

Wishing you all a lovely break!  See you after the school hols.
Happy scrapping,
Mandy xx

Time's running out...

Good morning everyone :-)

An exciting week ahead!  The Mixed Media Canvas, which starts this Saturday, has only 2 spots left!  If you have been thinking about it, you'd better get in quick!!!

For the girls already booked in, you will need one 4x6" landscape photo.  I converted mine to sepia, you can have colour, black and white or sepia - it's your choice :-)  You will need your photo for part 1 of the workshop.

Remember, although all the lumpy bumpy bits are included, you are more than welcome to bring along  things from your stash to include on your canvas - like broken jewellery, unusual buttons, anything really!

Also this Saturday night is the next Scrap'n'Roast.  There are 4 spots left to scrap the night away.

Hope you have a lovely week - stay dry!
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Next Week ... 16th September 2013

Good morning, good morning :-)

What lovely spring weather!  Everything is blossoming, my wisteria is covered in gorgeous purple blooms and the freesias...such an amazing perfume!  There's even little mulberries on my mulberry trees :-D

Daniel turned 18 and bought his first beer!  He couldn't drink it all - he was trying to be all man about it, but I don't think he liked it all that much, lol!!!  He was super surprised when he opened his pressies and discovered a PS3 - Gavin, being the good dad he is, had been talking to him and saying don't get your hopes up, money's really tight, whatever you get you'll like, etc....!!!!  So Daniel was completely unaware of what he was getting - love it!  I had to tell him to go to bed at 1am ;-o  His family/friends party is this weekend, should be a great night.

You would have received an email update earlier in the week with the Mixed Media Canvas.  I am so pleased with how it has turned out!  Let me tell you it looks much better in real life, the photos make it look a bit orange and bright, in actual fact it is very muted. Remember you will be choosing your own colour theme - it doesn't have to be pink and green like mine :-)  There are only 3 spots left for this wonderful workshop.  Part 1 is on the 21st @ 1-3pm.  For those footy mad fans, the second part is 10am-12pm, so you will have plenty of time to get home and ready for the big grand final game ;-)
There are plenty of glimmermist, smooch and color shine in stock if you don't have enough in your stash, as well as paints to match :-)
A fantastic workshop, this is one not to be missed! $80 for an amazing kit bursting with 'stuff' that will ensure everyone's collage of ephemera will be individually unique with plenty of leftovers to use in future projects.  Secure your spot now with a $20 deposit - it's filling up fast!

Next Week's Workshop is ...
Blowin In The Wind   $25
Thursday 9.30-11.30am
Do you remember making paper windmills as a child? I hope so!!  As we are going to be making some and using them as lovely page embellishments on this layout.  We are also going to be using some insulation flashing tape as a border and some had cut embellishments, which I know you will really enjoy. There are 5 photos on this layout - 2 portrait @ 4x6" and 3 square @ 3x3".  You will need your basic tool kit, inks, a border punch, title, your journaling printed out onto a 3 1/4" wide strip of printer paper that is 8 1/2" high - the printing needs to be 3 1/4" from the top of your strip.

The next Scrap'n'Roast is on the 21st September, 4pm - midnight.  There are 4 spots left for this evening of scrapping fun.  Eight hours to scrap to your hearts content!  With Grease and school holidays in October, there will be no scrap'n'roast until November!!!!  Great value @ $20 for a yummy roast dinner, nibbles, drinks and dessert - book now before all the places are gone!

Art Journaling, $14, is on the 27th @ 12.30-2.30pm and 7-9pm.  There's 2 spots left for the afternoon workshop and 3 spots for the evening workshop. Always lots of fun, plus learn fun arty techniques that can be used on cards, in scrapbooking or more art journal pages!

Better be off now and start baking for Daniels party! Hope you all have a great weekend.
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)
