Next Week's Workshop is ...

BRICK BY BRICK   $20

Monday 7.00-9.00pm and Thursday 1.00-3.00pm

We’re getting messy!!!  If you haven’t used texture paste or impasto medium before, 

you are going to love the 3D effect that it can give your pages.  We will be mixing it 

with a little paint to make bricks on our background, it’s going to look so cool!   

You will need one landscape photo @ 3 x 3.5” 

You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, around the page border punch set, heat 

gun (if you have one) and a palette knife or old gift credit type card. 

ART JOURNAL   $10

Home is where the Heart is :-)  

You know the old saying!  In this art journal layout we are going to be making a 

textured, painted background using lots of the techniques you have learnt already.  

Then the fun part - cutting and collage :-)  Using your paper scraps we will be 

cutting out basic rectangles and triangles to make a cute row of houses and a banner.  

You will need to bring along with you - Paint, Paper scraps, Stencils, Stamps, 

Journal pen, Texture paste, Glimmer sprays, Heat gun, Baby wipes, Paint brushes 

and a Palette knife/old credit type card.

We are going to have fun making a plethora of circle flowers from our paper scraps to adorn this layout! Put that together with some fussy cut birds and you’ve got a recipe for a very, very cute layout :-)

COPIC CLUB   $20

Friday 21st @ 7-9pm**

We haven't done much Copic colouring lately, so the Copic Club will reconvene on Friday 21st February @ 7.00pm - 9.00pm. I am going to show you a fun technique called No Line Colouring. Included in your workshop is a Memento ink pad which is a requirement for this technique. This fun technique has become popular lately due to the effective illustration style it results in, and the personal colouring challenge it presents. I think you are going to love the difference to your stamped images! You will need to bring along your Copic markers and your glasses ;-P Blending card, Memento Ink Pad and stamped image supplied.  If you wish to complete the background as I have done, please bring along your watercolours.

**The Copic Club evening is in danger of being cancelled due to lack of numbers.  If you would like to come can you please book ASAP.

This Week ... 3rd February 2014

Hello everyone!  

How did you survive our latest installment of the heatwave?  I don't know about you, but I have been finding it extremely difficult to focus and get any 'real' work done!!!  Thank goodness we live so close to the beach and of course having a pool in the backyard was bliss and it was very well utilized by friends and family all week :-)  Enjoy this brief respite as we will be back into by the end of the week!

This week's workshop is ...

MIRROR IMAGE   $23

Thursday 1.00pm - 3.00pm

You all know how much I love using page maps and layout sketches, but sometimes I just can't find a good double pager.  For this page I have found a single page layout that I liked and have simply flipped it over to create a mirror image and consequently a double layout!  You will see how easy it is to extend those layout sketches you have, adding a few extra touches here and there to make it look perfect for your lovely photos.

You will need 5 photos for this layout.  2 landscape @ 3.5x2.5"; 2 landscape @ 2.5x2" and 1 square @ 2.5x2.5".  I know what you're thinking - if this is a mirror image page, how come there's 5 photos??  Well, I changed the journaling spot on one side into an extra photo spot instead!

You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, 2 different border punches, paper piercer, embroidery needle, decorative scissors and some circle punches -@ 1.5" & 2".

Such a busy, busy and hot, hot, hot month, there will be no Scrap'n'Roast for February...so much to do, so little time, just can't fit everything in :-(

Happy Australia Day!!  

Hope you had a wonderful, Aussie kind of day :-) We had a scrumptious lamb roast shared with family after a luxuriously long swim in the pool. 

This weeks workshop is ... Page Kit $30

Monday 7:00-9:00pm and Thursday 1:00-3:00pm

I've got a wonderful kit for you this week!  Soft muted tones with a splash of rusty red :-) The fun part of this kit ... it has all been cut out for you with my sizzix eclips machine! Yes, you can cut everything you need for a page on your electronic cutting machine, especially if you have software for you computer so you can manipulate all your shapes.

You will need 2 portrait photos @ 4x6". You will also need your basic tool kit and inks.  You can add your title later when you get home - maybe cut it out of the leftovers using your own electronic cutting machine!

Art Journaling $17.95

Friday 1:00-3:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm

We are going to be doing two quick background page spreads in this workshop!  You can add a word or saying for homework when you get home :-)  Both pages are using stencils in different ways and to build your collection a new stencil is included for you in this workshop.  You are going to love both pages!

You will need to gesso two lots of pages (4 in total).  

Supply wise you will need - 

* paint - 2 colours + black

* glimmermist/smooch spray - 3 colours

* stencils - 4-6 different ones + new one included in workshop

* stencil brush or similiar 

* normal paint brushes

* baby wipes

* book pages x 3 ( in case we get time to add our word to the second page!)

This week ... 20th January 2014

Good morning all,

Hope you survived the hot weather!  The weekend was glorious with lovely sea breezes, ahhhhhh....

My computer has been out of action for over a week, thankfully I shall pick it up today :-) Because of this my planned class for this week will be delayed a week, but I sat in the scrap room yesterday and did another layout for you.

This weeks workshop is ...

SPOTS BEFORE YOUR EYES!  $19

Thursday 23rd, 1:00-3:00pm

As the name suggests, lots of circles adorn this double layout!  All with a myriad of layered circles there are a plethora of banners which all culminates in a wonderful feast for the eyes :-)

This layout will work well for both female and male with just the selection of your cardstock and papers.

You will need 3 portrait photos @ 4x6". You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, circle punches (all sizes you have), circle cutting system (we won't be cutting anything bigger than 3"), a title, embroidery thread, embroidery needle and a paper piercer.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!! 

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you kept cool to see in the new year.  Luckily we have a pool, so new year celebrations were at our place and we all made good use of the pool and spa :-)

This weekend we will start the scrapping year with a Scrap'n'Roast on the 11th starting at 4pm.  $20 for the evening, book in now to get a head start on all those photos you took over the holiday break ;-)

Next Week's Workshop is ...

Page Maps, A Christmas Layout   $17

Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 1-3pm

We are going to start the year scrapping our Christmas photo straight away!!  You are going to need 4 photos @ 4x4" square.  If you would like to cut a photo of your Christmas tree to use as the embellishment, as I have done, you will need 1 portrait photo of your Christmas tree blown up to 8x10".  I also used a photo of a vase of roses from the Christmas table (as I had a rose theme) as the embellishment cluster on the opposite side of the layout - so put your thinking cap on and think outside the box!  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, a title, sewing needle and cotton - the normal kind for sewing not embroidery.

Next Week's is also ...

Art Journaling   $11

Friday 1-3pm and Friday 7-9pm

This cute, cute page is not as hard as it looks!  You will need to gesso your page before class.  You will need paints, glimmermist/colorshine/smooch sprays, Sharpie fine marker or paint pen, black stazon ink, a stamp to create the background with - I used a large flower and acrylic block to fit your stamp.  For your stamp you could use flowers, butterflies, flourishes, text - anything!!!!

Next Week ... 16th December 2013

Good morning everyone :-)

Oh my goodness!!!!  Only 11 sleeps until Christmas and this is the last week of scrapping for the year!  This year has flown by at ultrasonic speed for me...so much to do, so little time!

Scrap'n'Pizza

Sunday 15th December 12pm-12am

As the bookings were not enough to keep the Christmas Scrap'n'Roast going, I have decided that I still wanted to spend the day scrapping :-)  So, this is the new plan...  Starting at 12 pm, bring a small plate of lunch to share, then we can start scrapping the day and night away.  When we get hungry we will order pizza's and split the cost between us.  Bring along your drink of choice and a bag of lollies or chips. Oh  and don't forget all your scrapping gear, lol!  Still time to book in if you'd like to join us.

Page Maps   $23

Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

 
A double layout page map this month.  I’ve added a few extra elements to the map, so you can see that you don’t have to stick rigidly to the page map, but just use it as a guide.  There are lots of places on the internet that bring out free ones - I love www.pagemaps.com, if you search for page maps scrapbooking or scrapbooking sketches, you will find lots of web pages out there with heaps of page map ideas for you to begin with.

You will need 3 photos, 2 landscape @ 6x4” and 1 landscape @ 5x4”.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, a title, 2 different border punches (not deep ones), a stapler and a circle cutting system (to cut a circle about 7” in diameter).

We will be back scrapping in January, the week beginning the 6th, so keep an eye out for your email update with the new calendar.  Don't forget the Thursday workshop time change for next year to 1-3pm.
