Next Week ... 9 August 2010

Hi Girls,

Staying warm and out of that chilling wind!!!  I've been continuing with my clean-up - once it's done, I can start making a mess in my scrap area again!!   We all say we will keep our areas neat and tidy... but it just doesn't last.  The curse of the creative soul - or is that the lazy soul?!  I did manage to make my messenger bag - it is sooooooo cute!! As you can see for yourself.  I took it to band on Tuesday night and showed it off (I know you just can't imagine me doing that, now really!).

Congratulations to last week's winner - Becky.  I shall keep your RAK gift aside to give you next Saturday. 

I have finally received my backorder of Print Block 12x12" refills.  So if you have been waiting to extend your albums, get them while you can.  They are in a pack of 10 for $10.00.  Also in, a different version of my Silent Setter - the X-Cut Setter.  You can set eyelets without all the banging noise!  $35.50 for the set.

Layering Madness  $20

Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

I went quite wild with layering flowers over half of this page and layering photos over the other half!  Layering can be a bit daunting if you are not confident, but it’s lots of fun and not that scary once you start.  Once you get the hang of it you’ll be layering things on your pages all over the place!  You will need 5 photos - 3@3x4” Landscape and 2@3x4” Portrait.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, edge distressor, paper piercer, embroidery needle, a title (I used tiny type alpha stickers) and any other embellishments you may wish to use.

Saturday 14th August is the next Scrap'n'Roast, this time it's a Pyjama Party!!!  This is fully booked.  There are still a few vacancies for the upcoming Scrap'n'Roast's, so email or ring to book in, because they won't last long!

This week's give-away (see I really am having a clean-up!) is a TLC page kit, MM Alphabet Stamps, MM Paint and MM Foam Brush!  WOW!!!  You have to be in it to win it girls - so leave a comment to be in the draw for this great RAK gift!

Hi Girls!

Another week has zoomed by - but I got a lot done this week, how about you? I still have 3 ballet tutus to do, but they will be all done by the weekend.   I picked up a really cute pattern for a messenger bag that is patch-worked, so I want to make one (out of all that material I have!).  I am itching to clean up my scrap space & get some crafting happening, especially want to have a play with my cricut... we shall see how we go! 

Next week's workshop is -

Attack Your Stash August  - Rip & Roll! $10

Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

Okay -  this is a huge, HUGE, attack your stash!!!  Once you see the layout, you will be itching to do this workshop! We are going to rip and roll our way through your paper stash with this one! You will need 4 photos - 2@4x6” Landscape, 1@ 4x5½” Landscape and 1@4x4¾” Landscape.  From your stash you will  need 2 cardstock for your background, 2 double sided patterned papers for contrast 1, 1 patterned paper (photo mats & title), 10” piece of lace, bookplate, two brads (for the bookplate), 1 metre of wire or stiff cord (I used thin leather book binding cord), ½ metre 2cm wide ribbon, 1 large 1” brad or button, book paper (about 8x11”) and any other embellishments you might like to use (I used a tassel).  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, paper piecer and a title (I cut mine from the leftover photo mat paper).

*Remember if you don't have any of the listed items, you can purchase them during the workshop.

Pyjama Scrap'n'Roast   $16   Saturday 14th August

Hi there everyone, hope you've all had a great week!  Kids back at school, life back to normal routine, aaahhhh...enjoying the peace!

I am still frantically scrapping the last of the workshops for the next calendar as well as being surrounded by white tulle....making ballet tutu's! 
 
Next week's workshop is -
Page Maps July   $17.50
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm & Thursday 9.30-11.30am
I changed this page map a little bit, I know...how unusual! The layout can now accommodate 10 photos!!!!  You will need 3 portrait photos @ 4x6”; 6 square photos @ 3x3” & 1 landscape photo @ 4x6”.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, edge distressor, a title, stapler, pencil, ruler & scalpel to cut out lots of squares (to resemble film negative strip) or if you are lucky to have a square punch about 1cm square you could use that (I did mine the hard way!)   As my page is of Jennifer’s sports day I used some cut-outs of girls running - so look through your stash to see what bits you can find for your page.

SCRAP'N'ROAST this Saturday, 24th, from 4 - midnight.  $16.  Fully Booked

This Week....19 July 2010

Hi Girls!

What a lovely day today!!!!  One kiddle back at school & the other back tomorrow.....big sigh of contentment!! (Notice the sun is shining - reflecting the love of mothers who's children have gone back to school today!!)  I love being on holidays - but it's good for them (& me) to go back.  Didn't get any scrapping done - as soon as I would try, kids wanted to do it to...so I left it alone.  Hope you got some done!  
 

I did manage to knit some little jumpers to send to the African Aids Orphans.  A great way to use up all those little bits and pieces of fancy yarn.  If you are interested, let me know & I will email you the pattern.  My cousin-in-law has a friend who collects them and sends them over.

This weeks workshop is...Using Laser Cut Papers   $21

Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

There are some stunning laser cut papers on the market today, apart from being pricey, you look at them & think...how will I use that??  We will be using one on our layout so it blends nicely to the page without detracting from the photos.  You will need 1 photo @ 4x6” landscape & 1 photo @ 4x3” portrait, your inks, a title, a border punch and any other embellishments you might like to suit your page ( I have used my slice to cut flourishes & the title, a fancy metal heart & stickles).

During the holidays I received an order of some new glimmermist colours & for those of you have been waiting .... the edge distressors are finally here, yeah!!

Hi everyone!

Time to let you know what's happening next week. 

Next week's workshop is - What! More Scallops?  $21

Monday - NO WORKSHOP; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm & Thursday 9.30-11.30am 

There is just no end to how you can use scallops and I just love them!  On this layout they are from a border punch & a scalloped ruler.  You will need 4 portrait photos - 1@3 7/8x6”; 1@4x6”; 1@3 1/4x6”; 1@3 3/4x6”.  You will need your basic tool kit, inks, a title (I cut mine from card-stock), corner rounder, border scallop punch, small hole punch and any extra embellishments you might like to use (I used a cut out heart, chipboard pocket watch and a silhouette word).

Saturday 19th June, Fiskars Crop Day is cancelled.  Unfortunately Michelle has double booked herself & is unable to attend. That's life - busy, busy, busy...but aren't we all!!!

Saturday 19th June,  Scrap'n'Roast, 4pm - midnight,  $16  has had one cancellation.  So if you are interested, get in quick!

Brrrrr.......it was cold last night!  Hope you were nice & warm!  I am busy starting the next lot of workshops, so if there is something you would like to learn, let me know & will see if I can incorporate it into one of the workshops.

Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm & Thursday 9.30-11.30am

 A really cute layout for this Attack Your Stash!  You will need 1 portrait photo @ 4x6” - can you believe I took 600+ photos at my brothers wedding and only one of them is of Jennifer posing!!!  You will also need cardstock or patterned paper for your background, 12x12” patterned paper, 8x12” cardstock or patterned paper, 14” ribbon about 1/4” wide, 14” lace about 1/4” wide, 14” rickrack, cardstock to cut flourishes, journal block, a title, any embellishments to match your page (I have used a button & some bling),  your basic tool kit, inks, a border punch & your slice or cricut machine to cut flourishes if you have one (I will have templates to use otherwise).

Next weeks workshop is Attack Your Stash - Recipe file. $10.
NO WORKSHOP MONDAY NIGHT, Wednesday 12:30-2:30pm & Thursday 9:30-11:30am

I was out shopping one afternoon when I found a  cute recipe file...what a great idea I thought, but it was too small with not enough pages. That got me thinking about making my own. So this is it!
You will need a white folder that has a place for inserts on the front cover (I got mine from kmart for about $8 - not the $5 one, it's not big enough!), 8 @ 12x12" patterned papers (make sure they are the thicker pieces), 4 cardstock in coordinationg colours, inks, letter stickers for title (or use your slice), 1" circle punch, hole punch, journal pen & your basic tool kit.
