May to July Newsletter is ready!!

Wow - time for another newsletter!! Gosh the year is just flying by, or is it only me?!

Hope this newsletter finds you well and ready for some great workshops. After a short break with the kids during school holidays and Easter, I’m back with a whole lot of new layouts and projects for you. I know you will love them and I can’'t wait to see you create the pages with your photos and the papers you will choose. I love seeing all the different page combinations emerge during each workshop, it is great that you are all doing the same page and yet they all turn out so wonderfully different!

I am heavily into rehearsals for 42nd Street, a great show which I can'’t wait to play for. I saw the original production in Sydney back in the mid ‘80s and loved it. One of the reasons I love being a part of these productions is the music, friends and amazing talent in the community theatre circle. If you get a chance, come along and listen to……...the lullaby of Broadway (yes, a line from a song in the show!) Don’'t forget to come and say hello to me down in the pit - no need to throw chocolate and lollies this time, as I am being a good girl!

Stock is still slowly arriving from the CHA2010 release earlier this year. (Thank goodness it doesn’t all come at once or we'’d all be broke!) So keep your eyes open for new bits popping onto the walls. Just arrived...Becky Fleck's Page Map Book (I love her page maps), new glimmer-mist screens, more and more papers - mostly double sided (I am going to have to get some more paper racks!), the list goes on!

The card workshops and slice nights are having a rest. I have had to cancel the last few due to lack of numbers, sorry to you who had booked in. I thought I would leave them out this newsletter and reassess from feedback for the future.

Scrap'n'Roasts are still happening, but I have spaced them out a little more, approximately every 3 weeks. Bookings and deposits are essential.

Keep an eye on my blog, as I always upload the next weeks workshop information there, as well as sending out the email. During the holidays I learnt how to blog from my mobile..with photos!! So, I will be putting specials, RAK packs (Random Acts of Kindness packs), bargains and all sorts on there as I am cleaning out my personal scrap space...I have decided I have way too much stuff for one person!! And...I don’t seem to be making much of a dent in it at all! For the last lot of layouts I was really good and the only thing I got from the shop was cardstock, which made me all the more conscious of how much I have! Keep a look out at madebymandy.blogspot.com

I have also put my gallery back online, but it doesn’t have any of the more recent layouts at this time - no promises there, but I will put pics on there from time to time. If you would like to add your layouts to the gallery, send me a photo and I can upload it for you. Good way to network, or for family and friends who live far away to see what you are doing. Thought it would be nice to be more a community gallery than just mine! Anyway, ask me more if you are interested.

Hope to see you soon,

Happy Scrapping! Mandy

Here are the new workshops...

Recipe file attack your stash $10
Monday 3/5/10 NO WORKSHOP; Wednesday 5/5/10 12.30-2.30pm & Thursday 6/5/10 9.30-11.30am

I was out shopping one afternoon when I found this recipe file...what a great idea, I thought to myself, but the one I found was small with not many pages. That got me to thinking...I will make my own! So this is it! You will need a white folder that has a place for inserts on the front cover (from Kmart about $8), 8 @ 12x12” patterned papers (make sure they are the thicker pieces), 7 card-stock in coordinating colours, inks, letter stickers for title (or use your slice), 1” circle punch, hole punch , a journal pen and your basic tool kit. **If you can’t get to K-mart, you can give me money the week before & I will buy a folder for you.

Chocolate box peek a boo! $15
Monday 10/5/10 7-9pm; Wednesday 12/5/10 12.30-2.30pm & Thursday 13/5/10 9.30-11.30am

More Core-dinations card-stock, this time Chocolate Box, mmmmmm, chocolate... Along the same lines as the Black Magic, but with Chocolate Brown on top & a colour underneath. Chocolate box got me thinking about when you open a box & look inside...so we are going to be opening up our card-stock to reveal the colours underneath! You will need only 1 4x6” photo, either orientation, your basic tool kit, inks, border punch, corner rounder, sewing needle, paper piercer, eyelet hole punch & setting tool & a title (I used odd chipboard letters from my stash & painted them to match the page). Chocolates are optional!!!

A fun page map this month that I have adapted to use a paper cd cover for one of the photos! We are going to be using the die cut papers I have in the speciality folder, so have a look beforehand if you want to know what’s there to match photos. Next Week ... 19th April 2010

Hi Everyone!
Hope you have all had a lovely break including Easter.  I have only one layout left and the next newsletter is finished - woohoo!!  (I will be doing it at tomorrow's scrap'n'roast.)  So, the newsletter will be sent out next week ready to whet your appetite with some great workshops.  The layouts will be going up tomorrow, so keep an eye out.
Next week's workshop is:
Holy Doily   $16
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm & Thursday 9.30-11.30am

It’s time to colour some paper doilies - you can use glimmer mist, inks, paint, textas or just leave them white, either way they look so cute!  You will need 1 landscape photo @ 8x10”, 1 portrait photo @ 3x5”, your basic tool kit, inks, a title, something to colour your doilies.  On my layout I used 2 packets of Kaiser craft bling flourishes.  These are nearly $8 a packet, so I haven’t included them in the workshop.  If you would like them I purchased mine at the Kaiser craft shop in Adelaide Arcade in the city.  You can use flourishes cut from the slice Basic 3 card, cricut Storybook cartridge or you may have some chipboard ones in your stash that would work quite well!

There is a Scrap'n'Roast this Saturday night (17th) and there is one spot left if anyone is interested.  $15, 4pm until midnight.
Next weekend (24th) is Michelle's Fiskars Crop Day $15 10am-4pm.  This is fully booked out.  Ladies please bring your basic tool kit & lunch to share.
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy

No scrapping today...baking cakes with Jennifer & then made her this bag. She picked out the material weeks ago & has been bugging me since then - she's happy now!

Here' the one I made for me - bit more decorative & starting to use some of that small amount of fabric I got for a bargain...

How about these cute tins!! $12 from cheap as chips & attacked my stash of making memories rubons to add the powder & soaker. Look soooo cute!

Loving my small renovation to the laundry, amazing how a small change can make such a big difference! Notice I haven't done the washing yet though - no change there!!
Hope you are all having a great holiday break.
