Next week ... 2 July 2012

Good morning :-)
Hope you are all snug as a bug in a rug on this chilly, rainy morning!  I have just lit the fire, but it's not very warm yet so the cat is almost in it and the dog is in the cat's bed about 1/2 a metre away!!! Cute :-)

School holidays start today and it's Jennifer's last day at WLSS.  I made her a mini album so she could get her friends, classmates and teachers to sign and she has been loving it!  Her class is having a class party for her today, when she asked what she had to bring the teacher said, "Your glamorous good looks and sparkling personality."  How gorgeous it that?  Here she is outside school this morning - and as you can see she complied with the teachers instructions!  (And I am also extremely biased!!!)

Next week's workshop is...
Glimmermist Background   $27
Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

We haven’t been using our Glimmermist and smooch sprays very much lately, so I thought it was time to create a nice background with them and some stencils. Plus we will be using lots and lots of layers to create an absolutely gorgeous layout!  You will need 4 portrait photos 5” high to equal 14” long.  My configuration of photos is 3¼x5”; 3¼x5”; 3½x5” and 4x5”.  You will need your basic tool kit, inks, edge distresser, glimmermist or smooch spray, foam mounting tape and a title.

Bookings for the Copic Skin Workshop (28th July) will close next Friday.  I have to order in the skin copic markers for the workshop, so if you are thinking of booking in - do it now - otherwise I won't have enough skin sets for everyone.

That's all for this week,
Stay warm and Happy Scrapping!
Mandy :-)

Next Week ... 25 June 2012

It's raining, it's pouring ... perfect weather for scrapbooking :-)  What have you got planned for this rainy weekend?

Next weeks workshop is ...
Attack Your Stash   $10
Monday 7-9pm and
Thursday 9.30-11.30am
Lots of odd size rectangles from scraps for this Attack.  You will need 6 photos.  3 @ 4x6” portrait and 3 @ 4x6” landscape - 2 of these will be hidden under a flap on the page.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, foam mounting tape, a title (mine is cut from a photo) and some embellishments.  From your stash you will need 2 patterned papers for your background and about ½ a sheet of 5 different patterned papers, some will need all that and some will be under. Plus you will need almost a full sheet of another patterned paper for the hidden photo flap.

Bookings are open for the next Copic Workshop (28th July, 1-3.30pm).  We will be learning how to colour skin.  I need to order in enough skin combinations for the workshop, so if you want to have some Copic fun, let me know asap.

Next Week ... 18 June 2012

Hi everyone!

Hope you had a great long weekend!  We had fun at Burra, it was freezing overnight - literally, the water was frozen in the hoses and small icicles hung from the other dripping taps!!  (Reminded me of when I lived in Canberra :-)  I took heaps of photos as we went from one historic site to another, haven't had a chance to go through them all yet.

Thank you all for your birthday wishes :-)  I had a nice relaxing day and then Vietnamese for dinner with family.

This weekend is the Copic Hair Workshop, Saturday from 1 until 3:30pm, $38.  There are still 2 spots left if you'd like to come along.  Even if you haven't done the intro workshop, you'll still be able to do this one with no problems :-)

Also this Saturday is Scrap'n'Roast, 4pm until midnight, $20.  There are 2 spaces left for you to scrap the night away on all your unfinished projects!

Next Weeks Workshop is ...
Alphabet Soup   $19
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
No, we are not opening a tin of alphabet spaghetti!!! Rather we are using up all different alphabet stickers and pieces to make a fantastic background all covered in paint!  I have been meaning to do this for ages to use up all my sheets of stickers that don’t make any words any more - you know what I’m talking about!  You will need 5 photos.  2 @ 4x6” landscape; 1 @ 4x6” portrait; 2 @ 4x4”.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, paint brush, border punch and if you’ve got some depleted sticker sheets you want to use up because you can’t bring yourself to throw them out - bring them along too :-)

Next Week ... 11th June 2012

Chilly, chilly, isn't it?  After our heating debacle last weekend, I have moved all my stuff and uncovered the old gas heater in the lounge room.  It's not enough to heat the whole house, but it does take the chill off the air.  Sebastian and Meg are taking full advantage of the situation....
What's really cute about this photo????  I moved Meg's bed from the laundry to in front of the fire and sure enough, she found it and was asleep in under 1/2 an hour.  Sebastian, not be left out, pulled his own bed down the hallway and over next to Meg's and joined her in fireside bliss :-)

Now, because it's my birthday next week and I've been receiving discount vouchers from business' since last week, I have decided to give you a discount voucher of your own!  Print it out and bring it in to save on your next purchase :-)

Made by Mandy Scrapbooking

10% off your next purchase!

Valid from 13th June until the 17th June 2012
Not valid for workshops or Scrap’n’Roast evenings
One voucher per customer

Keep spreading the word about how much you love coming to my workshops.  We know that there are people out there who scrap and are looking for somewhere to go and learn (and have lots of fun too!) so let them know where you go.  Word of mouth is the best advertising tool there is.  Numbers are dropping off and I can't viably keep going if I don't get enough people in the workshops.  At this stage from the 1st August I will be ceasing the Wednesday afternoon workshop and only running Monday evening and Thursday mornings.  I am trying everything I can to build my business and keep all the workshops running, but things aren't improving, in fact they are declining.   Food for thought...

Next Weeks Workshop is ...
Positively Negative   $15
NO WORKSHOP MONDAY - QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY
Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
Get out a fresh blade for your craft knife … you’re going to need it!  Usually we cut something out and throw away the negative - but not this time, we are using both parts with the result being extremely stylish in its simplicity!  I am also going to refresh your memories or maybe teach you for the first time to make rolled roses from double sided patterned papers.
You will need 2 photos @ 4x6” either orientation.  You will also need your basic tool kit, craft knife and don’t forget your glasses :-)

SCRAP'N'ROAST Saturday 16th June 4pm - midnight
Only 2 spots left for this evening of scrapping fun!!!  Remember you get 8 hours of scrapping, roast dinner, munchies, drinks and dessert all for $20!  Bargain!!

Saturday 16th June  1-3.30pm
You’ve learnt basic blending, now lets get into some more Copic fun!  This month we are going to learn to colour hair, complete with spica highlights :-) Included in this workshop are 3 Copic markers, Spica pen, Multiliner pen and designs printed onto X-Press It Blending card.  Bring your Copic markers from the Intro workshop so you can practise some more basic blending on the printed images dress.
Remember, if you already have some Copic markers, you can choose whatever you like to compliment your collection.
Don’t forget that this is the time to buy, order or lay-by Copic markers with 10% off during the workshop :-)
Bookings essential.  To be paid in full 7 days before the workshop.

Hope you all have a wonderful long weekend.  Keep warm, have fun and take lots of photos - I plan too!

Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Next Week ... 4th June 2012

Good morning everyone!

What a week of major appliance disasters!!!!  First the oven, then the caravan fridge, followed by the ducted heating unit...it's going to be a cold, cold winter in our house!  But, that's it right?  Three things?

Sorry this post is late, but have been running around looking at ovens in the later part of the week as well as other stuff.  Sometimes there just isn't enough hours in the day!

Our house guest has gone home to his mummy and daddy to find new family member!!  Haven't met the new puppy yet, but he looks cute in his pics :-)

Taken me a little while, but I have finally added all the emails from my manual email list to the mailchimp email list.  So some of you may be receiving my weekly email for the first time and possibly have been wondering what was going on!  If you don't wish to receive this update, it's easy to unsubscribe at the bottom of the email.

Next Week's Workshop is ...
Rosettes & Bunting   $20
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
I took photos of the kids over Easter clowning around in the wind with their towels, which of course reminded me of the circus, which in turn is the place to find lots of bunting and rosettes!!  You will need 6 photos.  2 @ 4x6” portrait; 2 @ 3x4” portrait (or 1 @ 4x6” landscape); 1 @ 3¼x6” portrait and 1 @ 3¼x2½” landscape.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks and a title (mine is printed on my paper).  If you have a cuttlebug and the Tim Holtz rosettes dies (regular and/or mini), you can bring them along so you don’t have to wait :-)

The next Scrap'n'Roast is on the 16th June and there are plenty of spots left.

We are up to the next instalment of Copic fun - how to colour hair!!!!  There are still a few spots left for this workshop on the 16th June from 1 until 3.30pm.
You’ve learnt basic blending, now lets get into some more Copic fun!  This month we are going to learn to colour hair, complete with spica highlights :-) Included in this workshop are 3 Copic markers, Spica pen, Multiliner pen and designs printed onto X-Press It Blending card.  Bring your Copic markers from the Intro workshop so you can practise some more basic blending on the printed image dress.
