Saturday Scrapping Fun!

In lieu of the Fiskars Crop Day, we still got together & created these gorgeous mini albums!
Plus we learnt how to make Penny Duncan's PDC Roses that are soooo beautiful!  Thankyou Penny for sharing your creative talent.
Lisa was here too, her album was gorgeous pinks!  She had to zoom home to a houseful of teenagers - bet she would have rather stayed scrapping!!!

Next time you're in the workshop, have a look at my album.  Just think what could be in-store for future Fun Crop Days!!!

Happy Scrapping,
Mandy

Next Week ... 30 August 2010

Good evening scrappy girls!

Just finished some delicious chinese chicken noodle soup with toast...mmmmmm.  Hope you are keeping toasty warm too!

This Saturday (28th) is going to be busy, busy, busy!  During the day is the Fiskars Crop Day.  $15 10am-4pm.  Unfortunately Michelle can't make it, so I have found a gorgeous shabby chic mini envelope flip album and we are going to make it!!  Mine isn't finished as this is very short notice - but here is a pic of my partly completed cover (yes I am going to show you how to make the roses!!!!) and one of the envelope pages (it contains three envelopes which become pockets and a kind of gatefold album as well).
If you are interested in coming along to make this cute album on Saturday, there is still time to book in as there are quite a few spots available.  I need to know by 4pm tomorrow (27th) so I can make up the kits.  You will need to bring a plate of lunch to share, your basic tool kit, inks, paper scraps to decorate the pages & tags, border punches, 1" circle punch, plus embellishments to pretty the album up (bling, ribbon, lace, buttons, etc..) If you have a hot glue gun and embossing heat tool, bring them too - then you don't have to wait!  Ring, email or even leave a comment on the blog/facebook.  I will check by 4pm so I know who is coming :-)

Saturday night (28th) is the next Scrap'n'Roast.  Starting at 4 until midnight - that's 8 hours of scrapping heaven...especially when you don't have to cook dinner!  $16 for the evening and there is one spot left.

Next week's workshop is -
INTRO TO PAPER FLOWERS   $16
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm & Thursday 9.30-11.30am
You know how much I love using flowers on my layouts and I am always on the lookout for new flowers, either handmade or bought.  My friend emailed me a link for this wonderful paper flower and I had to make it straight away!  It is a real centrepiece and would look lovely on a card or even as a present topper.  We are also doing a bit of recycling with this layout - can you see where?  You only need one portrait 4x6” photo for this layout as well as your basic tool kit, inks, 1” circle punch, paper piecer, embroidery needle, a title (I cut mine from the leftover contrast) and your slice/cricut machine if you wish to cut your title as I did.

No catastrophes this week and have put together a very summery prize pack to celebrate the end of winter, which of course brings us closer to summer!
You know what to do....leave a comment on the blog to go into the draw for this summer page kit, packet of extra large alphas, under the sun tag sheet and a Heidi Grace flower punch.  Good luck!

That's all for know - just leave you with a little pic of my sweet ballerina girl at last week's dress rehearsal... they are butterflies!!

Keep warm and happy scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Next Week ... 23 August 2010

Hi Everyone, What a week!!!  My cute 10 year old got sick enough with a cold to be hospitalised - all very quick!  Took a big chunk out of my week - but all home now and recuperating well.  Thanks to all the get well comments that were sent via face book and in person.  Needless to say - no scrapping, sewing or any other crafty activities were done!

Next Week's Workshop is -
Page Maps August   $18.50
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
This month’s page map has simple clean cut lines with a great flow of pictures leading the eye across the page as the pictures tell the story.  It uses 9 photos, so it’s great for those events that need lots of photos to tell the story.  Photo sizes are - 3@4x6” Landscape, 3@4x6” Portrait and 3@2x3” Landscape.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, paper piercer, embroidery needle, a circle cutting system (Fiskars, Coluzzle, Creative Memories), Journal pen, a Title and any extra embellishments (I used a dragonfly sticker and stickles).

Last weeks prize give-away winner is......... KERRY!!!  Congratulations!  I will keep aside for you.  With all that happened this week, I didn't have a chance to put something together for this week, but stay tuned for a special give-away next week.

The next Fiskars Crop Day is on the 28th August.  The lovely Michelle will wow us with her awesome creations from 10am until 4pm.  $15 for the day.  Bring your basic tool kit and a plate of lunch to share.  There are 3 spots left for this great day.

Great fun was had by everyone in their pyjamas at the last scrap'n'roast!  You will have to wait to see some gorgeous pics...  The next scrap'n'roast is 28th August, 4pm until midnight.  There is only one spot left!
Here's hoping for a much more sedate week! Stay warm and Happy Scrapping!
Mandy :-)

Next Week ... 16 August 2010

Hi!  Another week - been very exciting and busy here, how about you?

Let's see....  Firstly, I started a Made by Mandy Scrapbooking group on Facebook!  It is open to everyone, so head on over and join the group.  You can post images of your work, list a bargain you've found somewhere, invite your scrapping friends to join.  A great way to keep up with what's happening in my store too!

Then, I was struck by inspiration and made what I think are some really gorgeous flowers.  They are ready for sale, ready for you to decorate.  I think you will love them too. (See post below)

I also went mad cutting out chipboard shapes from Tim Holtz's latest range of dies (which are to die for - pardon the pun!) and put them on eBay for sale.  You can follow the link from the facebook group to see them and buy them.  You can local pickup them from me next time you are in the store.

Lastly, I booked flights to Vietnam (sorry for the disruption during Wednesday's class ladies!) to go and visit my brother and family.  My kids are understandably super excited...

Tomorrow night's Scrap'n'Roast Pyjama Party is all set to be one fun evening!  If you thought you had missed out I have had one cancellation so that means there is 1 spot available for this great evening.  So if you want to come along, ring or email me quickly...first in, best dressed, in pyjama's of course!
$16 4pm - midnight.

Next Week ... 9 August 2010

Hi Girls,
Staying warm and out of that chilling wind!!!  I've been continuing with my clean-up - once it's done, I can start making a mess in my scrap area again!!   We all say we will keep our areas neat and tidy... but it just doesn't last.  The curse of the creative soul - or is that the lazy soul?!  I did manage to make my messenger bag - it is sooooooo cute!! As you can see for yourself.  I took it to band on Tuesday night and showed it off (I know you just can't imagine me doing that, now really!).

Congratulations to last week's winner - Becky.  I shall keep your RAK gift aside to give you next Saturday.

I have finally received my backorder of Print Block 12x12" refills.  So if you have been waiting to extend your albums, get them while you can.  They are in a pack of 10 for $10.00.  Also in, a different version of my Silent Setter - the X-Cut Setter.  You can set eyelets without all the banging noise!  $35.50 for the set.

Next week's workshop is -
Layering Madness  $20
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
I went quite wild with layering flowers over half of this page and layering photos over the other half!  Layering can be a bit daunting if you are not confident, but it’s lots of fun and not that scary once you start.  Once you get the hang of it you’ll be layering things on your pages all over the place!  You will need 5 photos - 3@3x4” Landscape and 2@3x4” Portrait.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, edge distressor, paper piercer, embroidery needle, a title (I used tiny type alpha stickers) and any other embellishments you may wish to use.

Saturday 14th August is the next Scrap'n'Roast, this time it's a Pyjama Party!!!  This is fully booked.  There are still a few vacancies for the upcoming Scrap'n'Roast's, so email or ring to book in, because they won't last long!

This week's give-away (see I really am having a clean-up!) is a TLC page kit, MM Alphabet Stamps, MM Paint and MM Foam Brush!  WOW!!!  You have to be in it to win it girls - so leave a comment to be in the draw for this great RAK gift!

Well, that's all for this week.  Stay warm and Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)
