Next Week ... 28 May 2012

Hi scrappy people :-)

Sitting here with the gorgeous sound of rain on my tin roof - love it! Great for the garden and for filling up our underground rain water tanks.

Tomorrow is the second Intro to Copic Markers and there's still a few spots available if you'd like to come and see how these wonderful markers work.

Scrap'n'Roast is on tomorrow night, but looks like I might have to cancel with only two booked in. Eight hours of scrapping fun, roast dinner, dessert, drinks and nibbles - all for $20!!!! Not too late to book in, ring or text me to book your spot.

Jennifer has been keeping our house guest warm ... his ears were a bit cold last night, but she had the solution!!!  LOL!
On the other side of the spectrum, he has been making himself right at home ...

Next weeks workshop is ...
Fussy Cutting  $17
NO WORKSHOP MONDAY; Wednesday 12:30-2:30pm; Thursday 9:30-11:30am
**I'm sorry I have to cancel Monday nights workshop due to an important meeting I must attend. I shall make sure all who were booked in are notified personally.
The term fussy cutting has been in the magazines and on-line recently, but the technique has been around forever.   It is the art of cutting intricate patterns from the patterned papers.  We are going to have fun cutting out a pattern and make a cardstock border using an old tool I found while cleaning up - don’t think I’ll be throwing it out after all!  You will need 4 photos @ 4x6” landscape (I trimmed mine slightly so that I had space between them) and 1 photo @ 4x6” that you will cut into a circle.  You will need your basic tool kit, inks, circle cutting system, 2 border punches, your title (mine is cut from leftover papers) and a fresh blade in your craft knife!

Have yourself a great weekend, keep warm and happy scrapping!
Mandy :-)

Next Week ... 21 May 2012

Hi everyone,

Another exciting week has zoomed by!  I had an absolute wonderful time with Trisha Ladouceur from Canada, who is travelling around Australia and New Zealand teaching the most fabulous classes.  Luckily for me I got to do both of her classes while she was here in Adelaide.  Have to finish both projects off - what a shame...scrapbooking homework!!!

You may have already met our house guest, Hudson :-)  He's staying with us for three weeks while his mummy and daddy are holidaying in Thailand.  As you can see, he is quite at home at our place, but not getting loved....much!!

Next week's workshop is ...
Attack Your Stash - Chevrons   $10
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
I had so much fun with this Attack!!  Cutting out heaps of triangles and putting them together to create the illusion of chevrons (a zigzag pattern) across the page.  You will need 3 photos, 2 @ 4x6” landscape and 1 @ 5x7” landscape.  You will need 2 cardstock or fairly plain papers for your background, 2 sheets of cardstock in different colours for your photo mats, 6 different patterned papers at least 4x12” and your title.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks and foam mounting tape.

Saturday 26th May is the second Intro to Copic Workshop, 1-3.30pm, $40.  There are still a couple of spots left if you are interested.
If you have been interested in Copic Markers but have never seen them in action, this is the workshop for you!!!  You will get to play, learn some basic blending techniques and make a card with your coloured image.  Workshop includes 3 Ciao markers to begin your collection, images printed onto X-press Blending Card (enough to make 6 cards), 6 pack of cards, printed paper (for card), Copic hand colour chart (printed on X-press Blending Card) and a small stamp set.  You will need to bring your basic tool kit, inks and foam mounting tape.
Bookings essential.  To be paid in full 7 days before the workshop.

Saturday 26th is also the next Scrap'n'Roast, 4pm until midnight, $20.  There are plenty of spots available.
Come along on a Saturday afternoon & evening for 8 hours of scrapping fun!  Bring your photos & tools then crop the night away.  A roast hot from the Weber & salad will be served for dinner.  Softies in the fridge and the kettle is always handy for a cuppa!  There are always nibbles on the table ...and yes - you might get some scrapping done!!!
$10 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.  Cancellations made 48 hours before and no-shows are liable to pay the balance of the evening.
Cost includes dinner, drink & nibbles – a great deal!
**Workshop loyalty card is not signed & no free classes valid for Saturday Scrap Nights.**

Next weeks workshop is ...
Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
This great page map comes from Sketch Support.  They put up sketches on their site with heaps of layout examples for each one, so you get a good idea of how people have used the sketch.  Click on the sketch to be taken to their site :-) I am also going to show you how cool the copics are for recolouring your embellishments! You will need 8 photos.  3 @ 2½x2½”; 2 @ 6x4” landscape; 1 @ 4x4”; 1 @ 5x3½” landscape; 1@ 2½x3” landscape. You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, around the page border punch (I used the bracket one called Cherish) and your title (I cut mine from leftover papers.)

Okay, off to do some band stuff before committee meeting tonight!

Have a great weekend,
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)
