Dream, plan & grow your incredible new year in life + biz with this tool...

 550x381_V2
Hi lovelies,
Are you like me? I mean, do you believe, deep in your heart, that you can have a soul-full life, a success-full biz, and do a lot of good for the world in the process?
I absolutely believe that. And good news: I found someone who’s showing us exactly how to make it happen. :)
My friend Leonie Dawson has created something that’s changing the lives and businesses of SO many women around the world in a way that’s never been seen before.
If you don’t know Leonie, let me give you a few quick deets about her:
She’s a woman who really walks her talk. She’s managed to create a half million dollar a year company, working a few hours a day, spending loads of time playing with her family + making art + living a really full life. And, like me, she believes in making this world an amazing place by giving generously to causes she believes in.
I really resonate with Leonie, and I think you will too. Plus, she knows her stuff when it comes to business!
Leonie created the Amazing Biz and Life Academy, which gives you over $3800 (!!!!) of business and marketing programs to create a powerful and profitable business, zen-your-mind meditations, creativity, spirituality, home and health e-courses to help you live your best life yet. It is a complete toolkit for transforming whatever part of your biz or life you want to focus on.

I know you’re probably thinking that you don’t have time for more information, but here’s the great thing: you get a full year of membership at the Academy for a really low price, so you can pop in and check out the materials whenever you want to, on your own schedule. So whether you want to spend a couple of hours working on your biz in the middle of the day, or you want to grab just five minutes of time to listen to a meditation while you hold your snoozing babe in your arms, the Academy accommodates your life and schedule.
125x125
There’s a ton of info about the Academy and Leonie available at the link above. I hope you’ll check it out. And if you’re in the mood to be totally inspired + motivated, definitely check out the “Success Stories” tab on that page. The things the Academy members are accomplishing! Reading about other peoples’ successes always lights me up. I bet you’ll feel the same way when you read them.
Here’s the link again… stop by and take a look!

Cheers,
Mandy
:)
P.S. Investing in education and learning from someone who’s done what you want to do is the best way to make your dreams come true. Leonie is one of those women who can really teach you how to make it happen, in a completely heart-centered, open-book, “let’s change the world for real” kind of way.

The 2015 Create Your Shining Year workbook & calendar is an incredibly popular & useful tool to help you plan out & make happen your most incredible year in life or busines (or both!). Over the last six years, thousands of women have used this workbook with the most amazing results. It’s the best planning tool available to help you make your year your most exceptional yet!
Used by entrepreneurs, artists, mamas, creatives, coaches, teachers and women of all ages, the Create Your Shining Year in Life and Biz workbooks are filled with dozens of pages of powerful worksheets & a printable calendar to help you create your amazing new year.
I am planning on having an amazing 2015!!!  Hope you are too!

The last scrapbooking workshop will be Thursday 25th September at 1pm - 3pm.  We have all now got the wonderful circle cutters from Martha Stewart, so I thought it appropriate that we create a layout with an abundance of circles in many sizes!

You will need 4 landscape photos @ 4"x6".
You will also need your basic tool kit, large and small Martha Stewart Circle Cutting system, inks, a large title, a border punch and a journaling pen.
We will spend a little time practising using the circle cutters as I know some of you haven't used them before.

Glimmermist
Tripletac
Journal pen
Stazon ink pad

Blending stump (cheap - I got a packet from Neds)

SALE...SALE...SALE...SALE
During workshops everything in store will be 30% off!!!!
Everything has to go - all stock, paper racks and more!
Great time to stock up :-)

As you know I am struggling with my health issues at the moment, it's still early days so still sorting out medications and getting used to my new way of eating :-)  It is all quite a lot to wrap my head around, but I'm keeping my spirits up and experimenting in the kitchen everyday!   Anyway, due to this huge lifestyle change I have decided, after 13 years, to close down Made by Mandy Scrapbooking.  I thank you for all your support and custom over the years, the laughs, the tears and of course the creative times :-)

I hope to catch up with you all before I finish, until then...
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Tuesday, August 05, 2014

Hello, hello ...

Hi everyone :-)

How have you all been keeping?

Thank you for the cards and phone calls to see how I am going.  They really have brightened my days :-)

I am plodding along.   The specialist has left no stone unturned and I am due for another stint into hospital at the beginning of September, hopefully just for the day, for another round of tests to double check his findings.  The diagnosis is Crohn's Disease, which is an autoimmune disease effecting the digestive system.  It causes inflammation of the bowel, most commonly the lower small intestine (ileum) and the large intestine (colon). Mine is all the way through both intestines and stomach - yay!  The inflammation extends through the entire thickness of the bowel wall which causes abdominal pain, diarrhoea and a range of other symptoms including fever and weight loss.  No cure for this, a whole new way of eating - good thing I love to cook and experiment, isn't it!  I am in quite a bit of pain each day and still zooming to the toilet copious times, but hopefully with the help of the specialist, medication and cutting out grains, refined sugars and dairy, it will settle down.

Anyhoo, I am going to begin workshops again - but on a much reduced scale.  At this stage just once a month. I know you all understand xx

Please, please, please - bookings for all workshops are absolutely essential.

So, firstly, we shall get some Art Journaling happening on Friday 15th August @ 1pm and again @ 7pm.  We are finally going to be using all those barcode strips that I've been collecting all year ;-P  The workshop will be $10 and you will need to bring your art journal tool kit, paints, Tripletac adhesive (or gel medium), black stazon ink, background type stamps, acrylic block, rubons in black and a black journal pen.  I shall post a pic next week once I have finished my page.

Scrapping workshop will be on Thursday 28th August @ 1pm.  Here is a quick pic to whet your appetite...

Good news for the ladies who have been patiently waiting for the Martha Stewart Circle Cutting Systems to arrive - they will be here next week!!!!  Yay! Finally, after a few months on backorder I received an email yesterday saying they were in stock.  So I quickly put the order through before you missed out again!  The 4"-12" cutter is $45 each and the 1"-5" is $43.  I shall let you know personally when they arrive :-)

I have been doing a little bit of art.  Here is a bloom girl I did with the lovely talented Jamie Dougherty -
She just needs to go into a frame and be hung :-)

Rightyho, back to editing ballet photos!
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

A little update ...

Hi girls :-)

How are you all going?  Keeping warm and busy, I hope!

All went well at the hospital last week.  I went off to sleep laughing with the specialist, anesthesiologist and nurses about being special enough to have the machines that goes 'bing' and 'whoosh'!  (Monty Python humour!)

The specialist rang me earlier today, Tuesday, and I will be seeing him on Friday.  He is still waiting for some of the histology reports to come back from the many biopsies he took.

I have begun a course of medication and it seems to be helping, but there is no quick fix or even a cure.  So, a big lifestyle change for my family and me.  All for the better (and healthier) for us all though!

I am concentrating on getting a lot better before I get back into scrapping, art journaling and photography.

Keep well, I shall keep you updated.
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Update for this week ... 13th July 2014

Hello on my way to hospital :-)

Finally!!  After seeing the specialist late on Friday, he has admitted me to hospital today.  Loads of tests are being done, left, right and centre!  Although I still feel yuck (that's a medical term, isn't it, lol!) at least something is being done to find out what's wrong.  I was getting quite down with the doctors as they just kept sending me away, but this specialist was fantastic.  He was extremely empathetic and got his receptionist to ring the hospital and add me to today's surgery list as a matter of urgency.  I felt so relieved that someone was finally listening to what was happening and doing something about it.

Anyhoo, workshops will be suspended until further notice.  As you can appreciate I have to concentrate on getting better and back to my 'normal' self.

To all the ladies heading off on fantastic holidays - have a wonderful time!!!  Can't wait to see photos :-)

The rest of us staying put in Adelaide - stay warm and well!!!!

I will keep you updated.

Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Next week ... 30 June 2014

Hello, hello :-)

How are things with you?

I am not feeling so good :-( and I am waiting to see a specialist.

As I'm not quite with it, I have decided that there will be no workshops this week.  I'm sorry for cancelling, but I really feel awful.

School holidays start on Friday (4th),  there will be no workshops during the holidays as well.

I know this is a three week break, but with my health probs, hopefully the rest will do me good.  I should have seen the specialist and hopefully have some answers and a treatment solution!

Stay warm and well.
Happy scrapping,
Mandy :-)

This Week ... 23rd June 2014

Hi everyone :-)

Cold, windy and miserable here!  Dear hubby wants a coffin, lol - man cold!!!!!  I am still back and forth to the doctors, to no avail.  I contacted a naturopath, via email over the weekend, who specialises in digestive disorders and she has made a time for me tonight to come and see her... fingers crossed her holistic approach will help me back to the path of normalcy where normal medicine hasn't! I am thinking of buying shares in a toilet paper company ;-P

Braved the early morning on Sunday to venture to West Lakes for the Right Royal Fun Run.  Both kids were traffic marshalls and I was hired as the photographer.  Only saw one person I knew from the gym - so I assume everyone else was sensibly sleeping in and keeping warm!

This weeks workshop is ...
PAGE MAPS   $22
Thursday 1-3pm

Okay, we are going to have a bit of fun with this one! You can see the page map, from Becky Fleck, looks simple enough....well....muhahahahahaha!  I have a little surprise in store for you, let's just say it involves lots of strips - you will just have to wait and see what it is on Thursday!  You will need your basic tool kit, inks, title, XpressIt Clear Gel or Power Pritt Glue and a border punch.  For the photos you will need 4 photos, 2 portrait @ 3 1/4" x 5" and 2 landscape @ 3" x 2 1/2".  Lastly, you can see in the page map that there are some embellishment clusters and a large embellishment cluster in the shape of a butterfly.  I want you to go through all your little stash of small embellishments - flowers, buttons, etc... and bring them along so that you can create a one of a kind embellishing on your layout.

SCRAP'N'SOUP  $20
Saturday 28th June
4 pm - midnight
As the weather is so chilly, I thought that this weekends scrap could involve soup and crusty bread - how does that sound?  8 hours of scrapping fun, nibbles, softies, dinner, dessert and tea/coffee as needed!! Bookings essential.

Stay warm,
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Next Week ... 16th June 2014

Good morning lovely people :-)

Well, we certainly have switched to winter, haven't we?  It's not too bad, but still a lot colder than just a few weeks ago.  Hope you are all staying warm and well.  Remember the scrap room is heated ;-D

Next Weeks Workshop is ...
CENTERING THE EASY WAY   $30
Monday 7-9pm
NO WORKSHOP THURSDAY

We all struggle from time to time centering items on our page!  In this workshop I am going to show you how to use a centering ruler, which is included, which will make the task of centering so much easier!!  The really cute flowers you see on my layout are also included :-) They are paper, so you can ink or spray them if you don't want them kraft colour.
You will need 4 photos for this workshop, which we will trim just a little, here are the print sizes - 1 portrait @ 5"x7" and 3 landscape @ 4"x6".
You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, a border punch and your title.

ART JOURNALING   $28
Friday 20th June
1-3pm and 7-9pm

Life is a Beautiful Thing - isn't it?  In this workshop, which was postponed last month, we are going to begin by starting a technique book (which is included in the workshop), most months we will do a little starter in our technique book where you can try different media and write yourself little notes to remind you how we did or used certain products and techniques.  Then, onto to our layout using the beautiful metallic or pearl paints (included in the workshop) as a background wash, then building up the layers finishing with some washi tape (also included in the workshop). You will need to bring acrylic paint - including black and white, gesso, old toothbrush or stiff bristled paint brush, stickers or rubons for the words "is", "a" and "thing" - in black or white, black stazon ink pad, heat gun, baby wipes and tripletac or gel medium for gluing.  You will also need a small (travel size) spray bottle - you can get them from cheap as chips for a dollar, I used an old glimmermist bottle.

Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)
