Next Week ... 29 August 2011

Hasn't it been lovely seeing the sunshine all week?  Makes you feel more alive and motivated!  Been a fairly busy week here, looking forward to the middle of next week when we can sit back and relax!

Our Pyjama Party Scrap'n'Roast was lots of fun!  Everyone nice and relaxed, scrapping away in pyjamas :-)  The next Scrap'n'Roast is on the 17th September with spots still available.

Next Week's Workshop is ...

EMBOSSED BACKGROUNDS   $16

Have you seen some of the beautiful embossed cardstock around at the moment?  We are going to be using some from the Core-dinations Basic Grey Ornate pack for our page in this workshop.  You will have the choice of sanding or inking your cardstock, depending on which colour you choose.  You will need 5 photos, 1 @ 5x5”; 1 portrait @5x2½”; 3 @ 2½x2½” and 1 @ 3½x3½” which will be trimmed into a shape.  You will also need your basic tool kit, ink, sandpaper, journal pen, something for your title (I cut mine out with my cricut), embellishments to suit your photo theme (I paper pieced a bonsai tree and dragon) and a border punch.

Hello everyone! 

It's a dog's life for some...

 

Well, I have had fun today cleaning up the scraproom with Pam's help and while we were at it, we moved stuff around, looks good!  Last night I went with Kim to Seriously Scrapbooking where we did a class - it was lovely to sit and be told what to do!!!  We both really love our pages, Kim has a photo on hers already, but I have to find a photo for mine - usually the other way around! 

Tomorrow night is our Pyjama Party Scrap'n'Roast, 4pm - midnight, $16.  Have had a cancellation, so there are two spots available - let me know before 10am tomorrow if you'd like to come and scrap in your jammies :-)

Monday 7-9pm, Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

This cute pagemap I have jazzed up with some hand sewing across the bottom for a really gorgeous effect that really lifts the page.  You will need 5 photos, 4@4x4” square and 1@4x6”landscape.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, paper piercer, a border punch, circle cutter (coluzzle, creative memories, etc.) and any extra embellishments you might like to add - I cut out roses to complement the roses on my background paper.

Hi everyone!

Hope you've all been keeping warm - the weather's a bit sneaky, looks lovely and sunny but it's actually cold!!!  Although today isn't too bad! As long as you're on the inside looking out at the sunshine, all is good!

This weekend is the Hidden Delight Mini Album and there are 3 spots left if you would like to make this fun mini with many surprises at every page turn!  You will have to get in quick as we start bright and early on Saturday morning, well, ten o'clock - nice and respectable actually!  Last week's post has all the details and a teaser picture.  Give me a buzz or email if you would like to come along and spend the day scrapping, laughing and enjoying good company.

Bunting and Rosettes   $23

Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

Bunting and rosettes are very fashionable at the moment, you see them everywhere on the web and in magazines.  So, I thought we would combine these two elements and have some fun creating this page.  You will need 4 photos @ 4x6” either orientation, your basic tool kit, inks, border punch x 2, a title, paper piercer, shape punch (I used a butterfly) and foam mounting tape or squares.

Next weekend, the 16th August, is our Pyjama Party Scrap'n'Roast!! Still a few spots left if you would like to join in the fun.

Ahhhhh, finally got the newsletter done!  I still have to get out and get some photos printed and get to making the flowers for the Flower Making Workshop, but I feel much better now that you have the newsletter.

Monday 7-9pm; Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am 

You’re flicking through a magazine and a layout really takes your fancy...what to do, do you copy it or not? Well, I believe that if you do just acknowledge the person you scraplifted the page from, maybe even send them or the mag an email praising the layout and a copy of yours!  There are so many great layouts out there, sometimes you need to copy the whole thing or sometimes just elements of the page.  It’s okay to do, just don’t pass it off as your own!   I will show you this great layout I found in an old Creating Keepsakes mag
that I loved.  I have expanded it to a double layout and you will see slight difference, but I hope I will give you the confidence to take what you see and make it into your own. You will need 4 photos, 3@4x6”portrait and 1@4x6”landscape.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, paper piercer, title and a 1½” circle punch.

HIDDEN DELIGHT MINI ALBUM ALL DAY WORKSHOP    $30  KIT INCLUDED

Saturday 13th August, 10am - 4pm

This quarter’s mini album is a real cutie!  Each page has 7 tags and room for 7 cropped photos or journaling spots - WOW!  

You will need your basic tool kit, a scoreboard or stylus, 1” or 1½” circle punch, a decorative corner punch (you can use the same throughout or a combination of different punches), a border punch, liquid glue (such as Helmar Craft Glue or Scotch Quickdry Tacky Adhesive) and your inks.

We will have a shared lunch, so bring along a plate of something savoury to share and I will provide morning/afternoon tea treats and drinks for the day.

When you come in next you will find a whole lot of embellishments that are super cheap!!  As part of the end of financial year, one of my wholesalers gets rid of stock really really cheap...you win because I pass the savings onto you!!  So have a browse, you never know you might find something you like :-)
