The 15th December 2012 will be the last scrap session for the year.  Workshops will resume when school starts back in 2013.  The first workshops will be Monday 28th and Thursday 31st January 2013.  Please mark these dates in your calendar.  Of course if you need any supplies during the Christmas/School Holiday break, just ring to make sure I'm home and then come around, more than happy to open the shop for you :-)

Good morning everyone :-)

How has your week been?  

I have had quite a great week!  On Monday, my cusil (cousin-in-law!) and I went to have lunch with Luke Nguyen, a chef that we both love!!  He was lovely, just like he was on tv, so natural and down to earth.  The food was delicious and of course we both bought his new cookbook, which he personalised and signed for us.  He was a good sport and let me take a photo of him holding a serviette with a message for our hubbies saying wish you were here!  I'm not a stirrer...much!!!

Spent a lovely day at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens taking photos for my next photography assignment with my good friend Pam.  We had a relaxing time wandering looking at the gardens through our lenses :-)

Photo Lamination   $16

Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

 

This weeks workshop is all about the technique!  Even though it looks like a simple page, looks can be deceiving!!!  We are going to be using the Quick Laminate sheets that you can buy at a stationers (I got ours from Officeworks). Plus... you are going to have your hands in water for most of the class :-) 

You will need two photos, either orientation, that have been photocopied to A4 size.  Now this is really important - they must be black and white, so no colour copies.  Just normal photocopy paper, black and white copy - okey dokey?!

You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, paper piercer and a title or sticker/rubon words as I have used. 

Have yourselves a fabulous weekend taking lots of photos!

Good morning everyone, hope you are all feeling fabulous :-)

I am very excited and proud of my good friend Ben, he has been nominated for the 2012 ACC Awards in the individual and group catagories, Amatuer Theatre section for Forbidden Broadway!!! To be short listed is a great honour in itself.  The award night is in a few weeks, so I shall let you know how it goes...fingers crossed! :-D

Tomorrow is the Christmas Card All-day Workshop, $30, 10am-3pm.  There are still a few spots left if would like to come along.

You will need your basic tool kit, ink, foam tape, scoreboard, 1 border punch and copic markers, if you have them, there will be watercolour pencils in the workshop otherwise.  

As this is a day workshop, please bring a plate of lunch to share.  I will provide the nibbles and drinks.

 

Tomorrow is also Scrap'n'Roast time!!  $20 4pm-midnight.  There are spots available, give me a buzz if you would like to come along.

Shaped Photos    $13

Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

I have had a request to do a page where we cut the photos to fit around each other.   This looks fairly simple, but takes a bit of calculation!!  I think the overall effect is fairly plain and almost like a stain glassed window, quite pretty.  This layout is fantastic to scrap a large volume of photos for the one event without being too overwhelming.

You will need 12 4x6 landscape photos that can be trimmed down, 2 of them into a circle.  

You will also need your basic tool kit, circle cutting system (coluzzle, creative memories, martha stewart, etc), inks and craft knife.

**You may even get two layouts done if you want to bring two sets of photos, just depends how you go with the measuring :-)

How are we all going on this lovely spring day?

I've been busy sorting through wedding photos and finishing off the christmas cards for the workshop on Saturday.  What have you been up to?

This weeks workshop is ...

ATTACK YOUR STASH   $10

Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

We have this cute sketch to work with this week.  I have changed it a little!

You will need photos that are 4 1/2" tall and add up to 12 1/2" wide.  This means that any number of photos that when laid together will be 12 1/2" wide.  It is okay to have 1/8" gap, a good way to use up some photos that need lots of cropping!!

You will also need from your stash - 

Background - 2 patterned paper or c/s

Contrast 1 - 1 x patterned paper

Contrast 2 - 1/2 sheet patterned paper or c/s

Contrast 3,4,5,6 - 1/4 sheet patterned papers, all different

A title

Buttons x 2

String - about 20"

Small tag - about 1"x1/2"

4 ticket type punchies/embellishments

Border stamp and ink

Flower or embellishment - about 2 1/2"

Of course, you'll need your basic tool kit and inks.

CHRISTMAS CARD WORKSHOP  $30

Saturday 17th November, 10am-3pm

I will be showing you how much fun stepped cards are to make, plus a couple of little gift boxes that are made from only one sheet of paper each!  Perfect for a gift card and some chocolates :-)  

Now you can clearly see, I haven't stamped and coloured my images yet, but I needed to get the cards and boxes photographed and on here for you to see!

This week!!!! 5th November 2012

Hey everyone :-D 

Bit late with this weeks info!!  Sorry, sometimes life is just too busy! And... wasn't it just a little too warm over the weekend?!  I was photographing a wedding on Saturday ... I was melting!  If I was melting, the bride was lucky she didn't pass out! One of the groomsmen did!!!  Luckily, I happened to be right there as he was going down and caught him along with one of the bridesmaids!

This week's workshop is ...

Stamp & Splat!   $20

Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

Based on this cute sketch, we will stamp and splat our background to turn our cardstock into a work of art!!

You will need 4 photos, 2 portrait @ 3.5"x5" and 2 portrait @ 2.75"x3.5".  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, glimmermist/smooch sprays, 3 different punches (the map has flowers, butterflies and hearts) or your slice/cricut machine, paper piecer, foam mounting tape, strong glue (like pritt or x-press clear gel) and a title.

CHRISTMAS CARD WORKSHOP

17th November 2012  10am - 3pm

Come along and learn to make Christmas step cards!  You will get printed templates so that you can make them again and again.  If you are a Copic Girl, bring them along to colour in your stamped images.  Otherwise, we will be using watercolour pencils to colour our images.  We will be making 6 different step cards and they are all very cute! The beauty of stepped cards, is they stand so well (don't you hate how normal cards fall over!) and they have a 3d dimension which is beautiful.

This will be a day workshop and we will have a shared lunch on the deck.  Please bring a plate of lunch to share.  I will provide morning/afternoon tea and drinks.

I am still working on the cards, but the workshop should be about $25.  Will let you know when I am done :-)

**This workshop is not suitable for beginners.  

CHRISTMAS BANNER SWAP

Unfortunately, there weren't enough people to do the banner swap, which is a real shame, so it won't be going ahead.  (Lesson learnt for me!)
