Next Week ... 8 October 2012

Hello lovely people :-)

How are you all going this week?  I am still busy here, but, the hardest work is done!  Just off to the theatre each night, marvelling in appreciation of the guys and girls on stage!  I am pleased that I actually got time to finish my current photography assignment this week, submit it and now just have to wait for the result....

Remember it's not too late to buy your tickets to come and see Forbidden Broadway!!  Just email Merici at tickets@marieclark.asn.au If you say that I sent you, Merici will give you cast price! That's $23 a ticket - a saving of $5 ... we all love a bargain ;-)

Next week's workshop is ...
Attack Your Stash   $10
Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
This month's Attack is a scraplift, but not sure who created the gorgeous original.  I'm sure you agree that it is quite lovely, well balanced with a few techniques thrown in that will really lift your page :-)
You will need 3 photos - 1 Landscape @ 4"x6" and 2 Portrait @ 2"x3".
You will also need
  • 2 patterned papers for your background - not to dark or heavily patterned as we will be stamping and painting.
  • Contrast pieces x 10 different patterns about 4"x12" each (look through that scraps pile or think double sided papers)
  • If you want to mat your photos, then you'll need 1/2 a sheet of cardstock
  • Embellishments (like tags, flowers, string, chipboard pieces)
  • Inks
  • White paint
  • Paint brush
  • Border Punch
  • Glimmermist or Smooch spray
  • Mask (like a flourish)
  • Edge distressor

Christmas Banner Fun!!!
How would you like to make a Christmas banner to hang somewhere around your home this Chrissy???  Here's what I am proposing...
There will be either 9 (for - CHRISTMAS) or 14 (for - MERRY CHRISTMAS) people in this swap.
Each person gets assigned 1 letter and you make the required number of banners.  Once done, they all get swapped!  (Kind of like an ATC swap.)  Pretty neat, hey?!  We will have basic guidelines - colours, size of the banner, where the eyelets will go, but the rest is up to you.  What you will end up with is the a banner spelling out the word Christmas (or Merry Christmas if there's enough people) that you can string up for a cute, unique, one of a kind, hanging decoration :-)  (okay, 9 or 14 of a kind - but that's pretty close to one of a kind!!!)  Please email or see me during workshops if you are interested.  A couple of weeks to think about it, then put your name down by the 28th October.  Details will be given out on the 1st of November and you will have until the 1st of December to give the banners back to me for distribution.  It's going to be fun!!!

Off to the theatre - hope to see you there!
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)
