Next Week ... 20th May 2013

Good morning lassies :-)

Just getting the last of the Brigadoonian influences out of my system!!

Just a reminder to everyone not to wear perfume and scented sprays when attending workshops.  I am highly sensitive and in the confines of the scraproom, it is very overpowering for me, resulting in awful headaches, painful sinuses and lots of ventolin to relieve my breathing.  Thank you in advance :-)

Next Week's Workshop is ...
A Pocketful of Memories   $28
Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
This lovely double layout, inspired by Jane Treganza from the Graphic 45 design team, features one photo, all the rest are neatly stowed inside two pockets along with any memorabilia you may wish to add.  There's lots and lots of layering, ending with a cute steampunk type clock diecut that I have made for you.  I have put all my leftovers in the pockets for now and when I have all my Brigadoon photos, I shall print and mat them.
You will need one landscape 4"x6" photo (you can add all your others after class).
You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, paper piercer, a title and any other embellishments that suit your photo/theme - as you can see I have cut myself out some bagpipes and a decorative fleur de lis.

Scrap'n'Roast  $20
Saturday 25th May, 4pm - midnight
There are still spots left if you would like to come along and scrap the night away :-)

Art Journal   $15
Friday 12.30-2.30pm and Friday 7-9pm
We are going to be using shipping tags and paint for the next addition to our art journal.  Plus, we will be decorating our covers!!!
Before the workshop you will need to gesso your cover - at least twice, then paint it a soft brown.  If you already have a nice plain cover - then by all means leave it and you can decorate straight onto it like I did.  We will be using serviettes, so just remember any writing will show through.
You will also need to gesso your page.  If you can see the writing, you need to do another layer of gesso :-)
You will need to bring your paints (at least 4 colours + white), glues (tripletac and bostick gluestick), ink (a light brownish/yellowish stainy type colour), heat gun, paint brushes, scissors and a black journal pen.   For the cover you will need tripletac, black stazon ink and some flourish type stamps (I used flourishes and butterflies).  You will add your own title (art, art journal, journal, my art, etc....) at home, so don't worry about that for now.

Okey dokey, off to get the washing done and dry while the sun is shining!  Have yourselves a lovely weekend.
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)
