Next Week ... 30 July 2012

I just can't believe how quickly this week has gone by!  I have a list page long list of things to do and I seem to be adding more than I am crossing off!!!!

Going to be busy next week too, with my first big photo shoot happening.  I am excited and extremely nervous at the same time, LOL!

I have been scrapping like a hurricane and will have everything finished so you will get your next newsletter next week.

Next Week's Workshop is ...
Page Maps   $23
Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am
Lots of fun with this page map by Stuck on Sketches. The page is filled with photos and rectangles for you to add as much or as little embellishing as you’d like. As you can see in the picture above, I have fussy cut out lots of fairies from a Graphic 45 paper to add as embellishments to my rectangles.
You will need 6 photos for this layout.  3 @ 4x6” landscape, 1 @ 4x4” and 2 @ 2x2” (or you could just have 4 landscape photos).  You will need your basic tool kit, inks, paper piercer, two different border punches, a title, embroidery needle, journal pen and if you can - your journaling printed out onto white cardstock/paper measuring 2x3”.

Well, short and sweet today.  So much to do, so little time! Have a great weekend.
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Next Week ... 23 July 2012

Good morning :-)

It's been a busy week here - what about yours?
Jennifer started at her new school, very nervous the first day, but back to her happy self by day two!

Sebastian has been walking with us to school each day and is a bit tired, after all he and I do the walk four times, Jennifer only has to do it twice and his legs are sooooo much smaller!....  (These are going to make a really cute scrap page!)

Just arrived in are some new papers, mostly with a masculine tendency, you'll find them all in the first rack.  They won't last long!
Also in are these gorgeous doily dies and finally, after months of waiting the EK Success multi butterfly punch (only two, so hurry)!

Next Weeks Workshop is ...
All Squared Away  $20
Monday 7-9pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30am

Well, you’re either going to love me or hate me with this layout!! (Sorry the pic is sideways!!)  I’ve taken a perfectly good sheet of paper, cut it up into squares on the diagonal, distressed and inked each square then stuck them all back together!!!  Lots of fun J You will need one 4x6” portrait photo for this layout that will be able to be cut down to fit a cute chipboard oval frame where the opening is just a smidge under 4x6”.  You will also need your basic tool kit, edge distressor and inks.  Your probably wondering where my photo is, well.... I don't think we will get that far in the lesson, so I left if off so you could see exactly what the whole background looks like.

I have just finished this mini album for the next newsletter release, but thought I would give you a sneak peek!  It is 8x6 and has so many tags and pockets, you will be amazed.  It would make a great travel journal or album.  I have decorated only the first half of the album with papers so you can see what it would look like, but you will be making just the naked album and trust me, that will take all day!!!  If you are interested it will be  on the 25th August, 10am - 3pm, at a cost of $45.  Have a look next time your in the shop, I know you will love it!

There are still cricut cartridges available as well as lots of dies for the cuttlebug/big shot type machines.  Still all supporting their discounted yellow stickers, so grab them while they last.

Have a great weekend,
Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Bargains!

Hi there :-)

The Scrap'n'Treasure Sale went not too badly on Saturday.  Thanks to the 15 people that came to grab a bargain or two ... and there were plenty of them, bargains that is!  Interestingly, when asked how they found out about the sale, not one person mentioned the Advertiser, they all found it on Gumtree or the Online Trader (which were free ads as opposed to the paid Advertiser ad!).  Something to remember for next time.

Anyways, there are still a few bargains left that I need to find new homes for, so have a browse in the shop next time you're in.

I have now got enough saved up to upgrade my cricut machine to a Sizzix eClips machine!  This means my gorgeous pink cricut expression needs to find a new home :-)  It comes with two mats, spare blade, tool kit, deep cut housing, deep cut blades, Pink Journey cartridge, Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, Accents cartridge and Sure Cuts a Lot software (no guarantee that this will work on your computer as I'm not sure if the program is transferable).  Phew!  Everything you need to set yourself up for electronic die cutting at home.  Now you can still buy these limited release cricut machines new on ebay for $549 but not with all the listed extras.  My price is $350 for the lot!!!

I am also selling all remaining cartridges individually for $30 each.  Some them I haven't even used!!  (Naughty me) Here is the list of what I have in my cartridge library...

  • Cindy Loo
  • Christmas Cheer
  • Joys of the Season
  • Damask Decor
  • Trim the Tree
  • Christmas Noel
  • Ornamental Iron
  • Pagoda
  • Paisley
  • Quarter Note
  • Storybook
  • Stretch Your Imagination
  • Wild Card
It will be first in, first served - so hurry!

Many of the Sizzix and Cuttlebug dies from the workshop are available for sale too.
  • Bounce Alphabet
  • Typewriter Alphabet
  • Girls are Weird Alphabet
  • Various individual dies
Check them out next time your in, or give me a buzz if there's something in particular you're interested in.

Happy Scrapping,
Mandy :-)

Do you remember the quilting pattern called Grandma’s Garden?  Lots and lots of hexagons slowly paper pieced, then sewn together to create a quilt…  Well I’m not going to make you sew them altogether, but I am going to make you cut out lots of hexagons from your scrap stash to create a wonderful background for your layout!!  You will need 5 photos.  2 @ 5x3½” landscape; 2 @ 2¾x2¾”; 1 @ 2¾x5” landscape. You will need 2 papers or cardstock for your background, ½ sheet of patterned paper for a photo mat, ½ sheet of double sided patterned paper, lots of scraps to cut hexagons out of (I will have templates for you), 1 full sheet and ½ sheet of cardstock for hexagon mats.  You will also need your basic tool kit, inks, a title, embellishments and some bling bits.
